1. Ownership and Confidentiality
You retain full ownership of all materials you submit.
Submitting your work allows ScriptRighters solely to read and provide professional critique. We do not claim ownership, rights, or interest in your ideas, characters, stories, or other creative elements.
Your work and personal information are treated as confidential and are not shared with third parties.
2. Nature of the Service
ScriptRighters provides professional editorial feedback and critique.
Creative feedback is subjective by nature. By using our service, you acknowledge that:
- You may not agree with all feedback provided.
- Notes reflect the professional judgment of the assigned reader.
- Feedback is intended to help strengthen your work, not validate it.
Our service may not be suitable for writers who do not wish to receive critical analysis.
3. Refund Policy
All services are non-refundable once reading has begun.
Refunds or revisions are not offered for the following reasons:
- Disagreement with feedback, opinions, scores, or recommendations.
- Differences in focus or emphasis within the notes.
- Perceived inaccuracies or misunderstandings by the reader.
- Differences between our notes and previous feedback from other sources.
- Delivery after a personal deadline (we do not offer guaranteed or rush delivery).
If an element of a script is unclear to our reader, this may reflect how it would be received by industry professionals.
4. Editorial Discretion
Readers determine how much attention to give each aspect of a script.
Some areas may receive more detailed notes than others. Purchasing coverage does not entitle clients to specify or restrict editorial focus. Lack of commentary on a specific element does not imply oversight or error.
5. Scoring and Evaluation
Scores, recommendations, and evaluations may vary between readers.
Variations are normal and reflect individual professional perspectives. Differences do not invalidate the service provided.
6. Delivery Timeframes
Delivery times are estimates, not guarantees.
Typical turnaround is five to seven days. Delays may occur due to workload or availability and do not entitle the client to a refund or compensation.
7. Payment and Charges
Charges will appear on your statement as SCRIPTRIGHTERS or a similar identifier.
Payment processing fees charged by third-party providers are non-refundable. Please ensure you recognise the charge before disputing it, as chargebacks may incur additional fees.
8. Script Submissions
Once a script has been submitted and reading has begun, it cannot be swapped or replaced.
This ensures fairness to readers and consistency in service delivery.
9. Follow-Up Questions
You may submit up to three follow-up questions within 14 days of receiving your notes.
Additional questions or requests for extended interaction may be available for an additional fee, subject to approval.
10. Reader Anonymity
ScriptRighters protects the privacy and anonymity of its readers.
Clients agree not to attempt to identify or contact readers directly. Breaches of this policy may result in refusal of future services.
11. Limitation of Liability
ScriptRighters is not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service, including loss of opportunity, income, or reputation.
The service is provided as professional editorial feedback, not a guarantee of commercial success.
12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
This agreement is governed by the laws of South Africa.
Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts.
13. General Provisions
These terms constitute the entire agreement between you and ScriptRighters.
If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Any claim relating to this service must be brought within a reasonable time following delivery.
